Letters can be found on this page.

Deceber 2025

This past Saturday Pastor Weber baptized a lady who wanted to make her public profession of faith. So into the cold water they went, on a cold and cloudy day. She had recently received Christ as her Saviour, and wanted to be baptized. Sunday morning she was back in church.

As of December 2025 the mortgage for Genesis Baptist Church’s building is down to $1500.00 with the last payment to be made in March 2026. The people in Wilburton have been contributing directly to this so to be able to pay final payment on their own. The Lord has provided the financial means to make monthly payments on this $25000.00 loan since October of 2022, and it is great to report that we are nearing the end.

As we enter 2026 I’ll begin preparing to move toward the next phase of my ministry, the next church plant. I’ll be providing more on that as time progresses.

The Lord has blessed us with new visitors, some with children. People are becoming interested in how they can be involved here at Genesis Baptist Church.

Last Wednesday Pastor Weber gave the gospel to man who indicated he wanted to receive Christ as Saviour. The man’s health was failing fast, and so Bro Weber took his time and explained salvation. After Pastor Weber finished, the man received Christ as Saviour. The following day this dear soul passed on to meet Christ in Heaven.

I would like to close this update, and 2025 with a note from Pastor Mason Weber: “This year has been much of a rollercoaster ride, with many highs and some very lows, and yet we still find time to rejoice in the Lord through the great things he hath done!

As of writing this we have led over 73 souls to Jesus as their personal Saviour! Souls being saved in their houses, on the porches, down the sidewalks, in the businesses, waiting in line, out on the corner, in a “church” parking lot, and even during services. Much of which belong to many of the “churches” here in town, who have never heard, nor understood the FULL Gospel.

As we enter into this coming year, I ask that you continue to be in prayer for us, as we have much more work to do, and many more souls who need to hear the truth!

Thank you for all your love, support and prayers.”

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

November 2025

As the weather begins to cool we must not let what we do for the Lord cool. Here in Wilburton, Oklahoma we continue to see souls saved every week while out door‑knocking. This past Saturday we came to a home where the husband had already received Christ, but the wife had not. Pastor Weber asked if he could talk to her. He said yes, and she said yes. After hearing the Way to Heaven, Brenda asked Jesus to be her Saviour. As wonderful as this testimony is, there are souls that will hear the Gospel, but just won’t cross the line to call on Jesus as Saviour. I believe these are those who don’t take eternity seriously.

While I still help with the song leading and an occasional sermon or Sunday school lesson as needed, Bro Weber and myself both continue to go out door-knocking looking for that soul, and inviting people to church.

We have begun posting the Sunday morning sermons on the internet, along with occasional other posts. We simply use a cellphone mounted on a stand, the video is then taken, and an introduction and ending is added, then it is posted. You can watch the videos at facebook.com/genesis918 or
saviorconnect.com/genesis918 .

Please be in prayer for Pastor Weber. A few days ago his grandfather passed away. While he was able to preach at his grandfather’s funeral, his grandmother passed away on that same day. As of the time of writing this, he is to return to his home town, and will also preach at her funeral. We can all rejoice that the two souls are once again together in Heaven with Christ their Saviour. Amen.

October 2025

While door-knocking on Saturday Pastor Weber and myself came to a house where a lady was cutting the grass. Pastor Weber began to talk to her, and she was open to hearing about Jesus, and His way to Heaven. As they where talking the husband pulled up into the driveway. My first thought that this was about to derail Pastor Weber’s witnessing to the lady. So I went over to greet him, we began to talk. After mentioning that the two cats with him had no tails, I asked him about his church attendance, and then if he knew he was going to go to Heaven. He admitted he was not sure. He sat down on the porch and invited me to sit next to him (later this reminded me of Acts 8). After telling him about the death burial and resurrection of Christ, Daniel accepted the free gift of Salvation. And his wife whom Pastor Weber was talking to, also received Christ as Saviour. Pastor Weber told me after we had walked away, that he heard Daniel ask his wife, “Did you get saved too…” Amen.

We have had a number of new visitors from in Wilburton, and a visiting couple from Texas who had bought a place there in Wilburton. Earlier in the week, I went out to do a little door knocking, and encountered an older lady. She told me that she knew she was Heaven bound. I invited her to church. Sunday night her daughter who came into town to see her mother, came to visit Genesis Baptist Church because of the tract left with her mother. She enjoyed the service.

I have been teaching Sunday School lessons about why and what we are as Baptists. Soon Pastor Weber will be starting a new lesson series.

We are still anticipating making the last mortgage payment around March 2026. People have been giving special offering toward this as a special way to take a direct part in saying goodbye to this loan.

On October 17-19, Wilburton will be having its annual Fall Festival. While the actual Festival is at the state park, downtown Wilburton is full of people walking about, both local and from out of town. This is a great opportunity to pass out tracts.

Please be in Prayer. That more people will come to Christ, that Genesis Baptist Church will continue to have new visitors, and that God would grow a strong church in this little town.

September 2025

God at Work. This past week during our door-knocking, we came to a house with an older lady. She wanted to know about the Gospel, and Pastor Weber was able to lead here to Salvation through Christ. We were both praying that no one would ‘show up’ while he was witnessing, and allow her to receive Christ as Saviour. After we had finished, in less then a minute a car pulled up. It was a lady we had visited another time who had received Christ as Saviour a few months ago. She was this older lady’s daughter. We all were able to rejoice in what God had done. Amen!

During Saturday door-knocking on September 13th, a young man asked Christ to save his soul after hearing the explanation of how one can know for sure Heaven can be his home.

Please be in prayer. We continue to see some days with more in attendance. Yes, it is up and down. We rejoice when we have a new high. We are also looking forward to the mortgage on the church building being payed off around March 2026.

Pastor Weber asked me to design a new sign for our weekday sign holding in downtown Wilburton. Souls have come to Christ as a result of simply standing on the corner for an hour at a time, having the opportunity to tell willing people about Christ. The new sign will read, “Heaven or Hell? -Matthew 7:13-14 KVJ”. He sent the design in to have it made.

Please keep Genesis Baptist Church in your prayers as we seek to seek souls, and preach the Word of God. Thank you.

August 2025

To Begin this month’s Prayer Letter, here is a note from Pastor Mason Weber: “What a blessing it is to truly know Jesus as your Saviour, and what a joy it is to be used at His disposal. As of August 13th, we have seen 53 people receive Jesus as Savior, four of which were on the corner as we do our “Standing for Jesus” Street ministry. That brings us to a total of 128 Salvations since last April. Please continue to pray for us as we are steadily growing in attendance, and pray for a great revival to take place here in our small town of 2200 people.”

We had seen a couple of services with a number of new visitors. A family of six, and others bringing their children. This has been a blessing here at Genesis Baptist Church.

This event may be past by the time some read this: I’ll be spending a little extra time back at my home church, Poteau Valley Baptist Church, as we have our 2025 Tent Revival from August 20th through the 24th. Evangelist Craig Bryan is the guest preacher. There will also be special music by the Brown Family. Pray for many souls to be saved.

I’m hoping soon to begin seeking opportunities to visit other churches and present our work of the church planting ministry, and hopefully get a little more support. I was delayed in this a while, but it is time to start making plans, now that the Lord has provided.

Please be in prayer for Pastor Mason Weber as he continues to be about the Lord’s work in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Also pray for souls to be saved, more first time visitors, and for this new church to be a light in this part of eastern Oklahoma.

July 2025

In June Pastor Weber mentioned that he was going to start standing on the street corner in downtown Wilburton, holding a couple of signs. One sign reads, “Are you Going to HEAVEN?”; and the other, “Let Me Show you from the BIBLE”. For the past three weeks he has done this for one hour, Monday through Friday.

This has resulted in 3 souls being saved. This is in addition to the 5 souls won to Christ since my last Prayer Letter. In the picture you can see Pastor Weber standing, and two church members sitting in the shade supporting him. I’m there too on the days I’m in Wilburton to help with the church.

Baptism on the boat ramp! Sam, having accepted Christ as Saviour, was very eager to be baptized. She was actually excited about doing it in the lake, so we went right to it, and she got it done! Sam has been regularly attending, and even has come out to the street corner a few times during the sign holding activity. Please be in prayer for her as she has started this new journey with the Lord Jesus Christ!

We have been occasionally posting short videos on our church Facebook page. These “snippets” are taken from the services as Pastor Weber preaches. You can view them, and more at https://www.facebook.com/genesis918 . Look for more to come as time progresses.

The Lord has blessed. After I sent out my last Prayer Letter, the Lord opened up an opportunity for me to get another vehicle. This will once again allow me to get around on my own. Thank you to those who have been praying. Amen.

Please been in prayer. Pray for more souls to be saved. The growth of Genesis Baptist. Pastor Weber an myself. Thank you.

June 2025

We start this update with a note from Pastor Mason Weber: “The Lord has blessed us with a soul being saved every single week since April of last year. As of writing this we are currently sitting at 114 souls! As we are a fairly small body of believers surrounded by over 20 different “churches”, the Lord has put on my heart to start standing on the corner opposite of the JW’s with a sign saying, “Are you going to Heaven?” And then another sign under that one, “Let me show you from the BIBLE.” The goal is simple, to be an example, to win souls, to stand for what we believe in. This WILL NOT replace soul winning, but rather a daily commitment, “when able”, to stand for 1 hour in replacement of my lunch hour. Be praying for us as we try to build the Church and continue to win souls to Christ.”

Saturday Pastor Weber and myself went out door knocking. We went to a neighborhood and had mostly no answers, and others with no time to talk. We got back in Pastor Weber’s car, and he drove around town as we sought where the Lord would have us go. We ended up parking at the Library and walked a couple of blocks from there. Pastor Weber would take the first soul talk, coming up on a man working in his front yard, he began to talk to him, and Sam received Christ as Saviour.

Pastor Weber announced the above street corner plan during the Sunday Service, inviting anyone who would like to participate. I plan on going out with him during the times I’m here in Wilburton.

Last month we finished the “Meaningful Moments in May” with Pastor Ellis from Poteau Valley Baptist Church. These were informative sessions on, “Confirming the Churches”: 1) “The Biblical Definition of a Church and Her Pastor”, 2) “Church Membership”, 3) “After His Kind”, 4) “The Threefold Goal of a New Church”, 5) “How to Win a Soul to Jesus (Bear Fruit)”. This helped to reinforce the time when Genesis Baptist Church will become its own independent Baptist Church.

Heavy weather during the past few weeks. Thunder storms with tornadoes, and heavy rain. While there was some damage around the Wilburton area, the Lord protected the church property. One of the storms had our street as a raging river, but the building was not flooded.

May 2025

As of the time of this update we have now seen 31 people saved in 2025. Pastor Weber, and myself, continue to go out door knocking, and telling souls how to be saved.

Watch for opportunities from the Lord! I was walking in downtown Wilburton, and came across a man sitting on a bench waiting for a ride. After a couple of minutes the ride came and he got up leaving his wallet on the bench. I called out to him, and he came back to retrieve it. He thanked me. There was not time to witness to him. Just a few days later I came across that same man sitting on a different bench, and I was able to give him the Gospel, and he accepted Christ as Saviour. Hopefully we can get him to visit our church as he did give me his address. Please pray for lost souls to come to Christ, and for new converts to come to the church services.

Mickey Ellis, Pastor of Poteau Valley Baptist Church, is preaching “Meaningful Ministry Moments in May” here at Genesis Baptist Church on Thursdays during a the month of May. These sessions will help prepare for the time Genesis Baptist will become its own independent Baptist Church.

On Tuesday, May 13th I went door knocking with a man here in Poteau, OK (the town my home church is in). We were able to see three souls come to Christ. Two sisters at one house, and just a few doors later a man accepted Christ as Saviour while he was in town to visit his grandmother.

We have begun posting short videos taken from some of the sermons at Genesis Baptist Church. Some are only a few minutes in length, others longer. You may view these videos at https://facebook.com/genesis918 .

At this time it would appear that I’m without a car of my own. My Nissan developed some engine and cooling issues after I had put nearly $1000.oo into it for other needs. I was advised to just use it here in Poteau (at my home church). At this time I’ll need to find something else. Having been caught unexpectedly, I don’t have the same amount of money as when I bought the Nissan. Please be in prayer.

April 2025

Almost persuaded: From time to time we visit with a lady who likes to remind us that she is “Number 40” (the 40th profession of faith last year). At times a man would be there too who was a Jehovah Witness, and we would witness to him, but he just would not come across the line and put his faith in Jesus Christ alone. A couple of weeks ago we went to see the lady, but she was not home. Pastor Weber left a tract on her door, and the next door where the man lived. This last weekend we went by to see her, and she being home, invited us in. One of the first things she told us was remembering Pastor Weber witnessing to the man in her living room more than once. Then she told us that he had died just days ago. All three of us thought of the horrible end to die without Christ. Almost persuaded, but lost!

We continue to go door knocking to invite people to church. We continue to see people accept Christ as Saviour. As of the week before I wrote this letter, Pastor Weber led a couple to the Lord while out. On a week day I was out front of the grocery store, and was able to witness to an employee on his break. He asked Christ to be his Saviour on a rainy day sitting in front of the store.

At the request of Pastor Weber, I’m now preaching the Sunday evening service while he takes care of Sunday School and the Sunday morning service. I continue to lead the singing.

Please be in prayer as we go out and about inviting people to church. Pray that the Lord will bring increase to His church here in Wilburton, Oklahoma.

With “Resurrection Sunday” coming we look forward to celebrating our risen Saviour. Jesus Christ bringing the free gift of Salvation to whosoever asks.

March 2025

A Soul Receives Christ: Friday Afternoon I went for a walk around the streets of Wilburton looking for lost souls. After two ladies from out of town, and a man who I’ve talked to before, I came to a man on a downtown street corner. After giving him the Gospel, he hesitated, wanting wait until later. So I explained to him that we may not have later to decide. The man then asked Christ to be his Saviour. He kept one of our Gospel tracts taking note of our Thursday service time.

Attended a Great Conference: Pastor Weber, and myself attended the Old Paths Conference at Maranatha Baptist Church in Bethany, OK. This was three days of great preaching and singing. There were also sessions on how to build a great church. The sessions included information for churches both large and small. While there Pastor Weber, Bro Fenn (from Poteau Valley Baptist Church), and myself went soul winning in Bethany. After nearly four hours of door knocking, with few answering, Pastor Weber was able to lead a soul to Christ. He gave the name and address to those at Maranatha Baptist Church so they could follow up.

A Windy Day: A few days ago we experienced a very windy couple of days, and this blew down our church sign. On a Friday I got out there and dug the holes deeper, and later that afternoon, Pastor Weber and myself put the sign back up, a few extra inches deeper, and more cement than the first time. So far it still stands. Even as the wind continued.

Another improvement: A small useful gate has been installed into the fence that runs in front of the church building. This will allow people who park out front to walk strait into the front door without going around the end of the fence. Presently there is a rock garden that must be walked through if using the gate, but we are planning a walkway through it in the near future. People are already choosing to use the new gate. A big “Thank You” to those who came out to help.

February 2025

So far in 2025 we have seen 8 Souls saved while out door knocking, or witnessing during day to day activities. A young man that I mentioned last month, who recently received Christ as Saviour, continues to attend services weekly with only a few misses. A family of four has been faithful to Sunday morning services, and occasionally at other times. We have a lady who is faithful to most of the services. Please pray others will become more faithful.

After last Thursday Evening Service, we had a little fellowship. There was chili, macaroni and cheese, chicken rice and various soft drinks. We had a total of nine at our fellowship which went well into the evening before finally winding down.

On a Saturday, Pastor Weber and I went to a home to visit and have a short Bible study. This is something Pastor Weber would like to begin doing with new converts who would be interested. If this takes off with more becoming interested, we would likely need to meet at the church as a group.

Pastor Weber has decided to soon begin posting short videos on Facebook at facebook.com/genesis918. We call these short videos, snippets. Likely to be extracts from sermons or recordings specifically for this. These snippets do not have an actual name at this time, but that will come.

We now have a porch light. A simple little thing that was missing. It makes a big difference at night when people can actually see the front of the church building. We are planning on lighting the sign in the near future.

Another planned improvement is to replace the baby monitor in the nursery with a small camera to TV so they can hear and see the service. We have the TV, but I’m on the watch for a camera that can plug into the TV’s HDMI port.

January 2025

The year 2024 closed with 75 Salvations. The Lord greatly blessed!

My home church, Poteau Valley Baptist Church, is having their Missions Revival from January 20th – 26th. I’m here in Poteau this week at my Pastor’s request helping. Tuesday, eleven (including the missionaries) of us went out to Wilburton to knock doors and invite people to Genesis Baptist Church. The Lord led Pastor Weber and myself to an elderly lady sitting outside of her home in the 15°F sun, and we were able to lead her to Christ. She came to Christ with tears of Joy. This makes four Salvations so far in 2025.

I’m scheduled to show my new video about our church planting work during our Missions Revival in Poteau. Lord willing, I plan to post an online version once it is prepared.

The week of Thursday, January 9th Wilburton had a 15 inch snow fall, and Genesis still had church while others decided to close that week.

One recent visitor who received Christ had been attending another kind of church and is now attending Genesis Baptist Church.

Once again we had Bro Tom Fenn and his family with us on a Thursday evening service. He preached and his family sang. This was a blessing!

Please be in prayer as I must do a little repair to my car. It runs ok, but the headlights are having a known issue with the low beams. I plan to take care of it once I receive my tax refund.

Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support!
