August 2026
In Wilburton, Genesis Baptist Church will be having a four day revival beginning on August 31st. Evangelist Craig Bryan will be the guest preacher. I plan on making a couple of trips out there to help visit, promote, and get ready. Lord willing I will be attending the revival as well.
Coming in September’s prayer letter, I’ll be giving a few details about the planning stages for our next church plant. I am gathering information and visiting a couple of nearby areas for that work.
I love leading people to Jesus, the other day I was with another church member knocking on doors. We came to a house, and a lady in her 70’s answered. She said that she was not sure about getting to Heaven, but she wanted to know. After explaining the gospel (the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ) she asked Jesus to be her Saviour. Praise God, Heaven is now her Home!
On July 27th, for three days our church had its annual Kid’s Krusade with a patriotic and safari theme. We had Salvations, and an average attendance of 83. We needed to raise $2000.oo for four split unit air conditioners in our auditorium. The children raised nearly $1000.oo of the needed money during the Krusade (Amen!). The mini units are installed, and we are thankful..
I had a minor problem with my car, but was able to get it fixed. The Lord was good, as it did not cost as much as I thought it could.
Please be in prayer: In September I’ll be having some medical tests to determine if I’m going to need a major surgery on my heart. More on that latter as needed.
July 2026
On July the 12th, my home Church had its 50th Anniversary. God blessed our prayers and efforts with a total of 359 in total attendance, and 16 Salvations. Normally, our Sunday attendance averages about 140 and we are thankful for the Lord’s blessing! One of the things that God used was the special effort on the Saturday before. We normally average 35 members for our Soulwinning meeting, but then we had 54 come out to go into the highways and hedges, and compel people to come in, so that God’s House would be filled.
Earlier in the month Pastor Weber asked me to cover for him at Genesis Baptist Church in Wilburton, OK while he and his wife Cierra went out of town for a few days. This time also allowed me the opportunity to talk to some of the people there in Wilburton.
The sound system controls at Genesis Baptist Church have been located on the platform since services there began. Pastor Weber has asked me to help find what we will be needing to allow the system to be moved to the room at the back of the auditorium that was built for that purpose. He will be providing me with the measurements from the sound room to the platform so I can find the needed wiring to move the system. I’m assuming that I’ll likely be helping to piece it back together in the new configuration. Moving the sound system is one of the preparations for an upcoming four day revival scheduled at the end of August.
Souls continue to be saved in Wilburton, for which we are thankful. And while I’ve been helping my Pastor in Poteau with week-to-week needs and the just completed 50th Anniversary, I was able to lead someone to the Lord during door-knocking. A young 27 year old answered the door, and we got to talking. He said he did not know if he would go to Heaven. I asked him if I could tell him how to know, and he said, yes. After giving him the Gospel, he bowed his head and asked Christ to be a Saviour.

June 2026
This past Monday night I received a text from one of my Pastor friends in Florida, that a preacher friend (Bro Mickey Muse) had passed away. I had talked to Bro Muse about a week before, and we had a good conversation. He was the Pastor of Vision Baptist Church in Crestview, FL. This was one of the two churches I had visited back in March, as well as one of my supporting churches. He is now in Heaven with our Lord. Please be in prayer for the family, and those of Vision Baptist Church, there in Florida.
On Tuesday evening , May 19th some of our people from Poteau Valley Baptist Church went up to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Sallisaw, OK to take part in a door‑knocking / soulwinning activity. The group I was with went to a large condominium community. We activity got the whole place knocked during that single visit. Of course, some didn’t answer. I was given two teenage boys to accompany me. Near the end of our section an older lady came to the door, and was interested in hearing about the church there in Sallisaw, and how to get to Heaven. After we explained the Gospel, she asked Jesus to be her Saviour. We gave the address to others so the Pastor could have her information, and follow up on her.
On the last day of May, Pastor Ellis asked me to give a short update about what we have done and plans for the future. As I finished and started to sit down, Pastor Ellis asked me to remain. Poteau Valley Baptist Church presented me with a “Certificate of Ministerial License.” This was indeed a blessing and a surprise.
The picture is a first draft of my new prayer card. I’ll be waiting on a few minor changes to be made before actually placing my order. I’m hoping to get going very soon now on getting out to visit churches, and present our work in church planting.
I’ll be taking on additional responsibility directing BIBLICAL Missions Ministry in our future church-plant efforts, to be a help to my Pastor.
May 2026
Last Saturday while out soulwinning, a 67 year old man who was not sure about where he would spend eternity when he died, allowed me to give him the Gospel. He invited me into his apartment and we talked. At first he wanted to talk about his baptism. I explained to him about the second thief on the cross next to Jesus not being baptized (how could he), but only calling on Jesus by faith. After telling him the how and why Jesus paid for our sin, and that it was by faith alone, he asked Jesus to be his Saviour – accepting the free gift of Salvation. Even though he had gone to a Baptist church, he said no one had really explained this to him.
I’m continuing to help here at my home church in Poteau, OK as I work on getting ready to seek more support. New prayer cards, and updated information are being worked on at this time. Shortly, I plan to make contact with other Pastors about presenting our work.
While waiting on the Lord to show us the next location, I can say that Pocola, OK is one of the possible locations. Pocola is a town of somewhere around 4000 in population. Separately from this, Bro Tom Fenn will be starting a church in Eureka Springs, AR in a couple of years. I’ll be helping him in different ways. More about this will come in the future. He will begin providing updates at that time.
Brother Weber continues to pastor at Genesis Baptist Church. His wife, Cierra, continues to work with Pastor Weber there in Wilburton, OK. We stay in contact with each other. I’m still keeping up the Genesis’ Facebook page, and website; although I’m hoping to hand those off to him in the not too far off future. The transfer of the church phone number hit a snag, but Pastor Weber has a new number for the church. It is 405-367-9480. Those who have his personal cell phone number can still reach him that way.

I returned from my visit to Florida on March 17th, and a few days later had the privilege to attend Pastor Mason Weber’s wedding as his best man, I walked up onto the platform with my friend, and then he walked away with his wife (it was a beautiful time). Please be in Prayer as Pastor Weber and Ms Cierra begin their journey together serving the Lord at Genesis Baptist Church, in Wilburton, OK. I returned to Wilburton knowing that my time there was indeed winding down, having led the singing one more time, and preached my final sermon. Pastor Weber, and myself are good friends. Mrs Cierra Weber prepared a great supper for us all on my last full week.
A few days ago I made a one day trip to Wilburton, to take the final mortgage payment to the title company and hand it to person who sold us the church building; and receive the title release for the church building. I then immediately took it to the courthouse and filed it. The little church building bought for Genesis Baptist Church, is now paid in full! Amen!!
Presently I’m at my home church in Poteau, witnessing and helping around the church as we prepare for our Soulwinning Revival.
Soon after the Soulwinning Revival I’m hoping to get organized, and start contacting some churches about presenting our church planting ministry in order to raise additional support.

In Wilburton souls continue to be saved through various forms of soulwinning outreach. Recently I was in the Wilburton McDonald’s. I noticed an employee sitting in the dining room on his break. I was able to talk to him, and then asked if he knew where he was going when he died. He said, no. After showing him the Gospel from the Bible, he accepted Christ as his Saviour. What a joy it is to see the Gospel take effect in the hearts and lives of people!
Pastor Weber has been praying for a van, and the Lord came through. Genesis Baptist Church has been blessed with a full size van. This will be a great help getting people to the House of God. The Lord is good!
My time in Wilburton continues winding down. While I won’t be there every week, I’ll be going back from time to time to be a help to Pastor Weber. I’ll also be spending much time at my home church as I make preparations to seek additional support, while we pray about the next location to begin the next church.
I’m presently in Florida. I was asked to come here by a couple of my supporting churches to preach, and give an update on the church-planting work. Last week I was with Pastor Mickey Muse at Vision Baptist Church in Crestview. The second week I’ll be with Pastor Greg Hill at Westwood Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach, before returning to Oklahoma.
This was also a time to be with friends, and attend their church services in both Crestview and Fort Walton Beach.
February 2026
Pastor Mickey Ellis founded BIBLICAL Missions Ministry in 2020, having to a burden to start independent Baptist Churches in the smaller cities outside the local reach of my home church, Poteau Valley Baptist Church. Pastor Ellis contacted me about moving to Oklahoma, becoming a part of BIBLICAL Missions Ministry. I relocated to Poteau in December 2020, and in 2021 began with the planting of Genesis Baptist Church in Wilburton, OK. This would be our first church plant.
My Time in Wilburton is to be wrapping up at the end of February, although I will have some limited involvement there, from time to time. It is hoped to commission Genesis as its own ‘church’ later this year. Mason Weber and myself have developed a close friendship, as we have worked together for the past couple of years. Please be in prayer for Pastor Weber as he continues his voyage as pastor of Genesis Baptist Church.
Later in March I’ll be preaching at a couple of churches that already support me. I am working on getting some additional support. If you are looking to support a ministry that is busy fulfilling the local church’s commission, please contact me at the number below. Once the location of my next church plant is settled, I’ll be providing that information.
My Pastor, Mickey Ellis has had a specific burden for some time for a man who, along with his family, could answer a specific need for a church plant, and the Lord has provided. Bro Tom Fenn will be joining BIBLICAL Missions Ministry, answering God’s call to plant a church in Eureka Springs, AR. This small town in NW Arkansas is without a good solid independent Baptist church, and needs the Saving message of Jesus Christ. I’ll have more on this as time passes.
January 2026
The new year, 2026 has started with 3 Salvations thus far. In my last update I mentioned that 73 souls had been led to Christ in 2025. The year closed with a total of 80 Salvations. To God be the Glory!
Souls have been saved during our door-knocking time, and while Pastor Weber has held the sign on the street corner. I have even found some souls time to time in the local McDonald’s restaurant.
Genesis Baptist Church (presently a mission work of my home church, Poteau Valley Baptist Church) began in 2021 on Sunday afternoons at the Wilburton VFW hall. Later we would find an old church building needing much repair. We bought the building, fixed it up and moved in. The final payment of $500.00 is to be made this March.
Lord willing, I’ll soon begin to seek opportunities to present our ministry at other churches, as well as visits to a couple of churches that presently support me (The Lord has already helped with my expense to make those visits). My weekly time at Wilburton will be coming to an end as I transition into this next phase. I look forward to beginning another church-plant at the next location, as soon as the Lord wills!
